Burley Aquatic Developments has successfully completed many de-silting projects around the UK on large and small water bodies. We have used every conceivable method of silt removal from long reach excavators, barge mounted diesel pumps with auger bits, bull dozer blades, 60t 90ft boom draglines with winch machines set up on the far bank etc. On occasion we have used all these methods on the same job to ensure that we remove as much bottom silt and debris as possible.
Each water body will have its own set of associated problems when it comes to silt removal. De-silting is not cheap and it can be even more experience if something goes wrong such as losing a large machine in the bottom of a lake so it pays to speak with experienced professionals who can offer knowledge and experience and a works methodology best suited to your particular site.
Many de-silting projects do not need extensive permissions however if they are required then Burley Aquatic Developments can offer a full service whereby we will deal with all the necessary negotiations for permissions from the authorities needed to achieve de-silting projects.
Couple a de-silting requirement with a planted enhancement programme after the main de-silting works then Burley Aquatic Developments can offer a bespoke service which encompasses the entire requirement including new fish stocks if needed.
